Truco Time is not a gambling game
Truco Time is built on Truco, a traditional after-dinner card game. In Truco, players make "calls": Truco, Retruco, Envido, Flor... These calls raise the point value of the hand on the match scoreboard. They are not bets.
Why it's not a gambling game
- Nobody stakes anything. No money, no chips, no in-game coins, nothing you earn with effort and can lose.
- Everyone has the same right. Any player can make calls and raise the points of the hand, on equal terms.
- When the match ends, nobody wins or loses anything. Points are only that match's score: they don't add up, aren't kept between matches and can't be exchanged for anything.
- What the game rewards is reading people, not luck. Like feinting in any strategy game: showing you have power (true or not) and seeing whether the other player believes you.
Our commitment
Gambling creates a loop that hooks you: you put in something of yours, chance decides and, every so often, a prize brings you back for the next one, even though on average you lose. Truco Time is made without those pieces, and it will stay that way:
- We will never have real-money betting, or betting with anything that can be exchanged for money.
- We will never have loot boxes or paid random rewards.
- What we sell in the game (Truco Time Pro, and later on collectible cards) is shown before you buy it, bought directly and can't be resold.
If gambling is hurting you or someone you love: where to get help.
